The story behind the art:
Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud’s nephew, was the first to use psychological techniques in advertising.
His goal was to get people to buy things they didn’t need. Getting women to smoke by making them
feel liberated
was his first success. He called his method, “The Engineering of Consent”.
